Diascopic, LLC is a Limited Liability Company formed in the U.S. in the state of Ohio. It has presence in both Columbus and Cleveland. The primary mission of Diascopic is to develop diagnostic tools to dramatically improve laboratory processes. Our approach is to use advanced, yet easily available technology which has not yet been employed within the Health and Life Sciences Industry. The first product is the development of a portable platform, capable of rapid and accurate identification of multiple infectious pathogens, and initiating with the Tuberculosis bacterium.

Cary
   Serif

Cary Serif, Chairman and Executive Director, has been involved in the development, management, and reorganization of a number of innovative technical companies and startups during the past 15 years. Part of his strategic focus as a business partner is to help companies develop emerging opportunities and to maximize present operations. Because he has been involved for 25 years in online services, product development, and support as an Angel in the investor community, Mr. Serif is able to combine his entrepreneurial spirit and wealth of operating experience to set the vision and drive Diascopic into the market. Mr. Serif, having held numerous executive roles with companies such as Andersen Worldwide, Metavante, and Huntington Bancshares, also holds a BSBA degree from The Ohio State University in both Accounting and Information Systems.

Jim
    Uhlir

Jim Uhlir, VP of Engineering, has over 25 years experience in engineering management, including 15 years managing the design, development and clinical deployment of implanted medical devices to restore function in people with spinal cord injury and stroke. With Diascopic, he leads the design, development and production of the iON. This has been the culmination of a multi–year design and development effort involving optical experts, software developers, mechanical, electrical and industrial engineers. Mr. Uhlir has an MS in Biomedical Engineering, and an MBA –both from Case Western Reserve University. He also has an MS equivalent in nuclear engineering from the US Navy, where he served 9 years as a Submarine Officer.

Dr. Bruce
    Dietrich

Dr. Bruce Dietrich, Advisory Board Member, qualified as a Medical Doctor in South Africa at the University of Cape Town in 1966. On the heels of that distinction, he went on to complete a Masters degree in 1972 in Clinical Pathology at the same University. After spending a formative year at Groote Schuur Hospital, Dr. Dietrich went into private practice in 1973 and subsequently built one of the largest pathology labs in South Africa. Through his guidance and tutelage, this partnership known as Pathcare, grew from from one laboratory to over 80 in five different countries, across Africa, Europe and the MIddle East. Among other pathogens, such as Malaria and Heliobatcter, Tuberculosis pathology has been a major part of the Pathcare business over the past 30 years as well as one of Dr. Dietrich's areas of expertise. In 2007 Dr. Dietrich retired as CEO of Pathcare and now runs a consultancy business based in Cape Town.
